Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day.
It’s been a year and a half since I was reunited with over 30 long lost family members...all because of the discovery of a lost pendant in the Sobibor Concentration Camp.
My family was ripped apart because of the Holocaust...and then brought back together 70 years later.
Devastation turned to hope- all thanks to our 14 year old family member Karolina Cohen- who was brutally murdered by the nazis but somehow made sure none of us would forget.
We are all Karolina.

Camera or no camera, I have been placed on this earth to eat obscenely. This is the Privos market- the largest food market in all of Ukraine. It was made even more famous after a baby elephant escaped a local zoo in the 1940s and decided to stop by for a snack of pickles, apples, and peaches. The market extends over 20 acres, with more than 6 thousand vendors. So, that baby elephant had it right. If you’re hungry- this is the place to go! .

I’ve finally made it to the country that everybody thinks I am from! My name, Natasha Kirtchuk, is perhaps one of the most Ukrainian names on the planet- but I know nothing about my Ukrainian roots. My family immigrated from Ukraine to Argentina so many generations ago- that no one seems to know where we are originally from. Of course, I’d like to think that the Opera House pictured here was once ours- I certainly felt like I fit in. Either way, I have fallen in love with Odessa, Ukraine. This week on Insight, I interviewed an incredibly brave human being. Daniel Goldberg is a survivor of sexual assault- and he decided to go public with his story on social media so that other people would not fall victim to his attacker. 1 in 6 men have experienced sexual assault, but shockingly Around 90% of the people that responded to his story on Facebook were women. Most men chose to send private messages of solidarity. It is a problem that this issue is so taboo. The #metoo movement applies to men and women alike, and advocates like Daniel need to continue taking a stand. @capdain
